Don't just make a Hor d'oeuvre, make it your special dish by adding some spice. 
Here are a few recipe ideas to help inspire your creative juices!

Boursin Cheese Spread

Make a cheese ball, roll it in cracked black pepper and serve with crackers.
  • Rub your fish with a little olive oil or no fat mayonnaise and sprinkle the mix on dry and bake as you normally would.
  • Use dry as a rub on pork, or spread under your chicken skin and bake.
  • Sprinkle dry on cooked noodles along with a little olive oil, add sun-dried tomatoes and chicken for a quick meal.
  • Sprinkle dry on a baked potato, or make according to package directions and place a dollop on your baked potato.
  • Coat chicken tenders with dry spice, mix and bake.  Add to a marinara sauce, top with mozzarella cheese and bake.  Serve over vermicelli.
  • Use as a salt substitute or seasoning on almost anything.
  • Mix a small amount of the dry mix into goat cheese and stuff campari tomatoes.
  • Spread the prepared mix on a Boboli, top with sliced tomatoes, crumbled goat or feta cheese and basil for a delicious pizza.
  • Sprinkle some of the dry mix into olive oil for  bread dipping.
  • Make the dip as directed, and spread it on a flat wrap, add roast beef and some spring mix and roll it pretty tight.  Cut 1/2 inch sections for a great appetizer.  Secure with a toothpick.
  • Make as directed and stuff new red potatoes.
Seafood Dip/Base

  • Place a dollop on a cracker, top with a piece of shrimp or crab and a couple of drops of hot sauce (we like Texas Pete's) and you have an excellent easy Hor d'oeuvres.
  • On fish, brush your fish with a little olive oil or no fat mayonnaise and sprinkle the mix on dry and bake as you normally would.
  • Made as directed, it makes a great sauce on crab cakes or shrimp.
  • Make as directed, add about a 1/2 cup of clams, shrimp or crab and warm.  Serve with crackers.
  • Saute some shrimp in Zatarians or other Cajun mix, add a little hot sauce and add to the mix and serve warm with crackers.

Mexican Jalapeño Dip

  • Take one Tablespoon of the dry mix, one can of garbanzo beans (with the juice) and blend in a food processor.  This makes a great hummus.  Serve with Fritos, chips, pita bread.
  • To make fajita mix, cook  1lb. of boneless chicken with 1 tablespoon of the dry mix, add onion, bell peppers and serve on a wrap.
  • Add 1 tablespoon dry mix into a can of pureed refried beans, top with cheddar cheese and bake.  Top with a little sour cream.
  • Make as directed and serve on a baked potato.
Bread Dipping Spice

  • Make as directed and brush on sliced french bread, top with Asiago cheese and broil.
  • Make as directed and add more garlic and Parmesan cheese.
  • Sprinkle dry on noodles with olive oil and add cooked shrimp.
  • Make a paste by adding the dry mix into 1 Tablespoon of olive oil and brush on fish or chicken before baking.
  • Take 1/8th teaspoon of dry mix and add it to 4 TBL. of butter for an excellent garlic toast.
Cranberry Pecan Praline Sauce

  • Make as directed, spread on ham before baking
  • Toast a slice of pound cake, top with vanilla ice cream and drizzle Sauce on top. Yum..
  • Our famous Brie Bite Recipe:    Make as Sauce as directed.   Cut puff pastry or crescent rolls in 3 inch squares.  Cut a round of Brie into lots of 1/2 pieces.  Place the Brie on the pastry squares, top with a little Cranberry Pecan sauce and bake until golden brown.    Have additional sauce on the side to use as a dipping sauce.
  • Pour over cream cheese for an easy appetizer.

Spicy Asian Fusion Glaze
  • Make as directed and pour over cream cheese
  • Open a snow pea and place a small amount of cream cheese and about an 1/8th of a teaspoon of the glaze.
  • Use as a glaze the last few minutes of cooking on fish, chicken and pork
  • Soak tofu in the glaze and continue with your normal stir fry.
  • Take 1/4 cup of the prepared mix, add 1 to 1 1/2 tsp of sesame oil, thin to taste with water and use as a salad dressing.  For the salad:  1 cup of coleslaw, 1 cup of lettuce 1/2 cup match-stick carrots, 1/2 cup cucumbers, and 1 cup of  chow mein noodles, and top with slices of any meat.  
  • Marinate Tuna steaks in a 1/4 cup of the glaze, sear in sesame oil til brown and put the pan in the oven to finish cooking.   Glaze the fish again and top with sesame seeds.
Spinach & Shiitake Mushroom Dip

  • Make the dip with 2  large packages of cream cheese, add 1/4 to 1/2 cup of chopped artichoke hearts and 1 cup of shredded white cheddar cheese and serve warm with crackers, crostini or any hard cracker.
  • Make a loose paste with olive oil and the dry herbs and spread over fish before baking.

Italian Bruschetta Dip

  • Make the dip as directed and place on crostinis.
  • Pipe the mix into celery for a wonderful flavor.
  • The prepared dip can be used to flavor pasta, just add a little olive oil.
  • Add 1-2 Tablespoons of the dry mix to 1 can of white beans in the food processor and pulverize until it is a paste.  Let it rest for a day and serve with toasted pita chips. 

Sun-Dried Tomato & Horseradish

  • Make as directed and add some chopped shrimp and top on crostinis.
  • Place on crostinis.
  • Pipe into celery,
  • Add extra horseradish and cocktail sauce for a shrimp dipper.
  • Make as directed and add to cooked pasta along with extra sun-dried tomatoes and diced chicken for a quick meal.
Cajun Dip

  • Make as directed and serve over baked potatoes.
  • Sprinkle the dry mix on any meat before baking.
  • Can be used as a blackening spice or rub.
Garlic Dill
  • Sprinkle dry herbs in pasta salad.
  • Use the dry herbs as a marinade on fish.   Is excellent on tuna.
  • Sprinkle dry herbs on deviled eggs.
Curry Dip

  • Sprinkle dry herbs on steamed veggies.
  • Line a low roasting pan with veggies that have been tossed with olive oil, sprinkle on the curry and then coat chicken thighs with the dry mix and place on top of the veggies and bake until done. 
  • Drizzle the prepared dip over steamed vegetables.
  • coat cashews with a little olive oil, put them in a ziplock bag with 1-2 TBL of the dry curry dip and shake to evenly coat the nuts.  Bake for a few minutes to roast the cashews.

Green Onion, Shallot and Garlic Mix

  • Mix with olive oil and warm the herb mix for a few minutes to rehydrate the spices and toss in cooked pasta.  Add Parmesan cheese.
  • To make a meatloaf, add the spice mix, bread crumbs, and egg to hamburger meat and bake.
  • Serve with chips, crackers or pita points.
